[TheToolWiz] Happy Independence Day!

Hello!
I wanted to wish you a happy Independence Day, which is the
theme of this email. Those of us in the US are celebrating
the birthday of America’s independence from British rule on
July 4th.

But I want to speak more metaphorically about the reason
you’re even reading this message right now. Most people
get into online marketing to gain some kind of independence
from the need to work a “regular” job. I’ve got some news
for you here that I believe will be very supportive of that
goal. And even a useful tip.

Along the lines of “independence”, I mentioned in my last
email about how I’m in the midst of a divorce. Lots of
people sent some very kind and thoughtful replies. I
really appreciated that! And the response I got to the
offers was better than I expected. I’m honored to have
such great customers like you!

My wife moved out in late May and I wasn’t exactly sure
what I was going to do. I like the place I’m living in,
but sometimes it’s good to have a complete change of
scenery at times like this. I put it out to the Universe,
and was contacted out of the blue on Wednesday by an outfit
looking for people with my particular skills and background
for a project in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a 4-month
gig with unlimited overtime at an incredibly high pay rate.
They made me a formal offer earlier today (Friday) and I
accepted.

I was happy when my contract earlier this year ended so I
could focus back on my IM activities full-time, but this
deal is just too good to pass up. So, I’m off to Kansas
City, Kansas City here I come… I’ve never
actually been there, except for a 9-hour layover at the
airport once. But I hear they’ve got terrific barbeque
ribs there.

Last weekend I had the privledge of attending Jeff Walker’s
Product Launch Formula Live Workshop in Denver, CO. It was
an absolutely INCREDIBLE event! There were some really
“big name” people there, nearly 100 attendees overall,
and three full days of totally killer content. And not
ONE SINGLE PITCH! Is that amazing or what? I didn’t
spend a penny on anything besides food and drinks. (BTW,
have you noticed the price of Glen Livit lately?)

As you probably know, I get all kinds of invitations from
people to JV with them on all sorts of stuff. Frankly,
most of these launches are so saturated that I don’t want
to bother my lists with just another pitch of the same
old stuff. Besides, it’s hard to compete when the other
guys are offering piles of bonuses supposedly worth
thousands of dollars.

In case you haven’t heard, Mike Filsaime is about to launch
something big, as well as Rich Schefren and a bunch of
others. There will be a lot of “product launch noise” in
the next few weeks. You won’t be hearing much of it from
me, however. (Partly because I’m off to Kansas City,
Kansas City here I come…)

But there IS one thing that deserves your attention right
now, and you probably won’t be hearing much about it.

One of the guys at Jeff’s workshop was a fellow named Tim
Kerber. Tim and his partner, Ryan Lee, have a package
they’re launching that’s almost “under the radar”. I had
lunch with Tim on Friday and got to know a little about
him and his product launch. Check out the video right now:

Tim and Ryan have a very mature (8-year old) membership
management package called MemberGate. They’ve put together
a course that takes you step-by-step through what’s
required to set up a membership site. In case you’ve
been stuck in an AdSense Vortex for the past couple of
years, you need to know that membership sites represent
the ULTIMATE recurring revenue stream.

And these guys have got creating profitable membership
sites down to a science. They are the BEST in this respect.

Check out their video and opt-in to their list to see more.
Jeff played a short bit of this video for us at the
workshop, and almost everybody in the room was floored at
what we saw.

What does this mean to you? Spell it with me:

I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-C-E!

Now, here’s the TIP I promised earlier…

First, you MUST have seen the video:

It’s pretty good, eh? Looks like your typical Camtasia
recorded during a teleseminar, right? WRONG!

Tim was in Boston and Ryan was in Miami, Florida. Tim
recorded the phone conversation with his voice being
recorded on a nice desk mic, while Ryan was recorded
from Skype, although he was on his cell phone. The
audio quality is outstanding, isn’t it?

Tim and Ryan exchanged an outline of what they were going
to discuss first. Not a script, but just an outline.
They went through it point by point. When they were
finished, Tim edited down the recording. And THEN … he
went back and created a PowerPoint presentation as he
listened to the conversation being played back.

When he was finished, he started PowerPoint, cued-up the
audio, and started Camtasia recording the screen. The
result looks like a well-sync’d A-V presentation with
excellent audio quality and excellent timing between
the speakers and the visuals.

Finally, I had some really great conversations with people
at Jeff’s Workshop, and one thing that kept coming up was,
“What does your list think?” I had to admit, I dunno.

So I’d like to request that you reply to this email and
tell me what you think of my periodic rantings. They’re
not very regular; is that good or not? What do you like
about them? What don’t you like? More importantly, what
would you like to see more or less of?

Everybody who replies will receive a free copy of a little
tool I’m getting ready to release.

Again, happy Independence Day to you and yours!
