I just got done restoring the previous version of someone who asked me to upgrade their Wordpress blog.
The good folks at Wordpress.org released V2.6 “over a month early”. But it has a problem if you’re upgrading from an earlier blog: the Categories get messed up.
So if you’re going to upgrade, do NOT move to 2.6 yet.
And always remember to do a backup of you database before you run the upgrade!
BTW, I’m available to do installs and upgrades for Wordpress, Rapid Action Profits, and other scripts at $50/hr.

Today is July 11, 2008. It’s the day the iPhone 3G was released into the market. WOW! I’d love to get one of these puppies.
I have a friend who thinks it’s just a bunch of hullaballoo about nothing. He’s missing the point. And maybe the boat. The truth is, the iPhone finally delivers what Bill Gates has been talking about for 10 years, saying how Windows will revolutionize mobile computing. Only Bill never envisioned what Apple has actually accomplished!

But WHAT IF … someone said they’d hire you and pay you between $10k and $30k per month if you could turn out a new app every month, complete with a video tutorial, installation script, basic sales page, basic support, and handle all the sales through your own PayPal account.  What would you say?

I don’t know if I can convince anybody of going with a Mac vs. a PC, but here are the issues as I see them. This is mainly from the perspective of being a software developer, but it also applies to just about anybody considering the switch. So sit back and grab your coffee… Continue Reading »

This is a copy of a post I made to a programming list I belong to. This particular discussion has been going on and on about the pitiful state of programming in my neck of the woods where skilled php programmers are only able to find jobs for $15/hr doing top-level php programming.
