Pimp my … WHAT?

Hi there!

Ever seen the TV show, “Pimp My Ride”? It’s a kinda
crazy reality show where they take an old beat-up car
that’s barely worth salvaging, and they “pimp it out”.
That is, they dress it up to the point where it’s
barely recognizable by the owner.

Then they sell it for TOP-DOLLAR. (!) Yeah. Like I said,
it’s kinda crazy. But … it works.

So here’s a fellow who’s been flipping web sites for a few
months (!) and appears to be doing quite well at it.
He just wrote a fairly meaty eBook documenting exactly what
he does to “pimp out” plain old run-of-the-mill Wordpress
sites that he turns around and sells on eBay, Sitepoint,
and other places for several hundred dollars. (!)

While I’d love to say he’s charging an arm-and-a-leg for
his ebook, he’s not. At least … not yet.

He’s selling it for the amazingly low price of … $10.
You might want to grab a copy before he comes to his senses!

In fact, he just updated it earlier today, expanding it
from 63 to 75 pages.

This is something just about anybody could do easily.
(I plan to!)

It makes me wonder if there’s a market for flipping
RAP-based membership sites…

Enjoy!

The Importance Of Using Redirect Links In Your Emails

This is one of those really counter-intuitive things that people just don’t seem to get.

Most people think that they only need to worry about getting their own domain name or email address blocked if they send out too much junk mail. This isn’t completely true. You can also cause domain names contained in the body of your messages to get added to blacklists — and nobody will ever tell you, them, your customers, or their customers! Continue Reading »

I Interviewed Willie Crawford

Hello, and Happy Holidays!

I had the distinct pleasure to spend nearly two hours this week interviewing Willie Crawford about how he has built-up his affiliate marketing revenue stream to the point where it’s exceeding 7-figures annually.

What was most intriguing about this is he’s not really doing anything outrageous or that requires any kind of huge investment.

It’s all explained in this interview we recorded earlier this week:

http://is.gd/ai8g

The interview is available as an MP3 download.

We just got the transcript back and it needs some editing; it’ll be available in a few days.

Then I’ll also be going through the interview and creating a mind map from it and delivering that to everybody as well, along with a list of resources that relate to what Willie
discussed but didn’t explicitly mention.

Hosting special — FRIDAY ONLY!

Hello!

I wanted to call your attention to something that I thought
might be a benefit for you.

HostGator is running a KILLER special for new customers
today: 75% off of new hosting accounts!

** I have been hosting with HostGator for over a year now
** and I am very happy with the quality of service I’ve
** gotten. I have a reseller account. I’ve seen various
** complaints that people have posted, and all I can say
** is that most of these can be attributed to the nature
** of shared hosting in general, as well as the need these
** guys have to hire support staff who only have limited
** technical skills.

Hosting is a critical part of most online businesses, and
I personally find the value of service I get from HostGator
to be extremely high!

Today (FRIDAY) only you can get a RESELLER ACCOUNT for less
than the price of a single-domain (Baby Gator) account.

** this special also DOES apply to ALL their offers **

A reseller account gives you the ability to set up separate
hosting accounts for individual domains with their own
logins and resource management settings. If you were to
consider setting up sites on domains that you wanted to
flip, a reseller account is ideal because you could simply
turn over the login info and charge them for hosting. Or
require the to set up their own hosting then transfer this
domain’s account into their own billable account with HG.

I think this is for “new customers” only. I suspect that
means you need to use an email address and/or credit card or
payment mechanism that isn’t already on file with them.

If this interests you, I’d really appreciate it if you use
my aff link to check this out:

http://tinyurl.com/preferred-hosting

Thanks!
-David

[TheToolWiz] Full-time coder for $200?

Hello again!

This is not a sales pitch so much as an opportunity to take
your web sites to the “next level” for an incredibly
low cost. Please read it carefully.

I don’t get very excited about most software product launches
these days, mainly because it’s really difficult to see the
value in what they’re offering. Besides that, much of the
software being sold in the IM field is either overpriced
bloat-ware or stuff that’s been repurposed from Open Source
materials that’s got no support or any way to get bugs fixed
or enhancements made without paying for it yourself.

As you probably know, I’m a professional software developer
by trade. I’ve been working in and around the software field
for 30+ years now. (Hard to imagine, eh?!)

One of the things I’m asked about a lot is to build web sites
for people that involve data capture and manipulation. This
sort of thing is really easy to do in a Windows environment,
but is many times more complex when it’s being targeted for
use on a web site.

So if a basic form-based application would take me 50 hours
to do for Windows, it might take 100 hours or more to build
for a web site. Possibly more if you want it to have all
sorts of spiffy “Web 2.0″-ish features that “Ajax”
technology offers.

If you’ve ever tried to get a quote for work like this,
you’ve probably run into the problem where you’ll get a
bunch of bids at a low price, like 20 hours of work for
$200. You send them a more detailed set of requirements
and suddenly they tell you, “After discussing the details
of your needs with our world-class programmers, we have
determined that your project will actually take 200 hours
and cost $1000″.

I have run into this myself numerous times trying to bid
out projects for both myself and clients, and it amazes me
that these people actually get away with it! And if you
ended up buying into their scam, you find that not only
can’t they program, but their English-language skills leave
an awful lot to be desired.

Then there are the odd bids — 50 hours for $2500. You look
at them and the “20 hours for $200″ and think, “NO WAY!”

Well, these bids are probably FAR MORE ACCURATE in terms of
the time they’ll take. You just don’t like the cost.
(Hey, I charge between $50 and $125/hr depending on the
work I’m doing!)

Ok, now here’s the exciting part …

How would you like to get a piece of software that lets
you quickly and easily build fully-functional, Ajax-enabled
“Web 2.0″-ish FORM-BASED applications that run ON YOUR OWN
WEB SITE for LESS THAN what you’d pay to have me build you
just one form?

It’s like … if I were to offer to create as many form-
based web apps that you’ll ever want or need for a low
one-time fee of only $197…

Enhance your web sites to do things like:

# Simple Questionnaires
# Complex Surveys
# Contact Forms
# Job Applications
# Testimonial Generators
# Database Entry Forms
# Feedback Forms
# File Uploaders
# Tests and Quizzes
# Or Collect Data of Virtually Any Kind

The entire application is built on top of a MySQL database
so the data you collect is stored safely and made available
for as long as you need it.

SurveyMonkey charges $20/mo for surveys. This software
lets you build similar kinds of surveys.

If you have EVER tried to get a bid for ANY of these types
of web-based applications from Rent-a-coder, eLance, Guru,
or any other programmer job-board, then you KNOW that you’d
be lucky to get just ONE of these apps built for under
$200.

Then there’s support, updates, tweaks, … you know …
all the things you didn’t think of at first. As well
as the NEW ideas you get.

This is called “Feature Creep” and it’s the bane of most
programmers these days!

This software ELIMINATES ALL OF THAT!

Now you can create virtually all of the form-based
applications you’ve ever wanted, without having to deal
with people who can’t speak your language, and who
chronically under-bid then jack you up and eventually under
deliver!

The best part is … this software does not require you do
know ANYTHING about programming, or even LOOK at a single
line of code!

It’s like getting your own full-time programmer for $200!

Seriously.

No hooks.

No tricks.

The price won’t go up to $1000 after the fifth form you
create.

It’s just $200. One time.

And if you’re STILL scared, then ring me up and I’ll be
happy to drive it for you at my usual hourly rate. :)

[TheToolWiz] This Week’s Cool Tool Tips!

Hey there!

Time for another batch of cool tool tips!

Last week I mentioned about a terrific theme I found for
Wordpress that lets you set up a “review site”. The few
people who saw it apparently liked it, as the conversion
rate was unusually high.

Go here to learn more: http://is.gd/7oku

This site uses RAP, and they have an affiliate program that
pays instantly. So this is something you could also promote
on your sites and to your list.

Also, I’m involved with Willie Crawford’s “The Internet
Marketing Inner Circle”, or TIMIC. Several TIMIC members
have put together some excellent products and launched
them recently. One of them is Craig Beckta’s “Secret
Affiliate Code 2″. This is a follow-on to his earlier
release, and there’s some overalap in the material. But
much of it is new and far more timely. Basically, Craig
teaches how to leverage the power of affiliates to create
extra income streams.

You can find out more here: http://is.gd/8mFS

Learn more about TIMIC here:
http://www.innercirclememberthetoolwiz.com/

Finally, just a head’s up: Sid Hale is about to release a
long-awaited update to Rapid Action Profits. If you don’t
know what this is, it’s on its way to becoming one of the
most widely used affiliate sales scripts on the internet.
It supports an incredible array of commission settings,
pays affiliates instantly, and integrates seamlessly with
PayPal.

While there aren’t any really big enhancements in this
update, there WILL be an announcement in about a week
for an ADD-ON that lets you set up a fully-functional
membership site through RAP. It will also include another
add-on that lets you manage subscriptions through RAP as
a free bonus item.

Find out more about RAP here: http://tinyurl.com/wizrap

If you purchase a copy of RAP through me, I’ll be happy to
install it on a site for you as a “bonus”. I’ll also give
you a free copy of an ebook I’ve been writing that shows
how to use RAP to implement several Advanced Marketing
Strategies. (I’m waiting for the update before releasing
it.)

That’s it for now. Cheers!

[TheToolWiz] Need more _________?

Hey, there

Sorry I haven’t been sending anything much out lately. Life has been really crazy for me, as it is for many folks today. I hope things are going well for you!

Rumors are that holiday shopping will be down this year, in part because I think people are just burned out on all of the “noise”. It’s also partly because people have downsized their driving habits because of gas prices. Oh, and there’s this “economy thing” going on.

The Good News in all this is: sales of stuff online is expected to hit record levels this holiday season. Bad news for retailers, but good news for you and I!

If you don’t have a site set up to capture sales, put one up today. Stick on some links to Amazon products you like, maybe some links to eBay auctions, and get some traffic.

There are tons of ways to get traffic. One is to put up reviews of things.

Here’s a really great, and inexpensive, Wordpress theme designed specifically to let you set up review sites:

http://is.gd/7oku

It uses Ajax widgets to create a very “Web 2.0″ish experience for your visitors. Just find things on Amazon
that you’re familiar with, put up an affiliate link and a nice little review, and see what happens.

You’ll need some traffic, and this handy little set of videos offers some great ways to leverage “Web 2.0″ tactics to generate lots of traffic:

http://is.gd/7o0O

I’m going to be promoting more stuff like this over the coming weeks, for two reasons. One is that I’m feeling the economic crunch just like everybody else, and I hope that you find some of these products to be useful in YOUR online efforts.

The second is that most of the programs I’ll be promoting not only pay UNSTANTLY, but they have affiliate programs where YOU can sign up and get paid instantly for YOUR promotional efforts as well.

My cashflow has slowed to a trickle, and I can’t afford to wait until January for affiliate commission payments!

So I figure the best way to make some money is to help YOU make some money — RIGHT NOW.

Got any comments or anything in particular you’d like to see? I’d love to hear about them!
